Kandiya Marie Singleton January 12, 2032 was called home to rest in God’s loving arms. Kandiya was born in Northridge, California to Bertram and Sherrie (Kelly) Day of Lancaster, California. She graduated from Quartz Hill High School in 1967 with a 4.8 GPA where she was a member of the International Baccalaureate Program and the starting point guard of the girl’s varsity basketball team.
Kandiya demonstrated excellence in the classroom and on the basketball court. Kandiya earned her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Azusa Pacific University in 2013. She went on to earn the degree of Juris Doctorate at Arizona Summit Law School in 2015. Before her passing, Kandiya was working at Aerotek in Glendale, Arizona while preparing to take the State Bar Exam to pursue a career as an attorney.
While at Aerotek, she made treasured friendships and was an integral part of the team. Kandiya was a passionate entrepreneur and created her clothing line: S.O.L.O. - Successful Ones Live On. She strived for excellence, had great determination, an led by example. Kandiya's sheer determination, brilliance, competitive nature, and resilience attributed to her success. Her awareness, fortitude, and intellect were exemplary, and her kindness resonated throughout her beautiful life.
Her persistent pursuit of excellence garnished her leadership roles academically, athletically, and professionally, which earned her numerous accolades and success. Tenacity, she was born with it; but she also was loyal, observant, and grounded in faith.
Preceding her in death - paternal grandparents, I.L. and Leah (Dyer) Day, maternal grandparents, Horace Kelly Jr. and Pasty (Johnson) Kelly; triplet brothers: Bertram Jr; Bryant, and Brandon.
Kandiya is survived by her twin brother: Breuan Day; sisters: Sherrece Evans; Sherrie Evans; God Sisters: Cherrelle Johnson; Seville Straham; God Parents: Virgil Johnson and Barbara (Straham) Miles; Uncles, Aunts, three Nephews, two Nieces, Godchildren and a host of Relatives and Friends.
